Gigs and new tunes!

Dear Friends of the Fire

All is good and lush here in the Kentish Fire garden. With new drummer-recruit and general italian stallion Guido the band played a couple of very cool London gigs recently, at the Camden Barfly (photos) and just a few days later at Cafe 1001. Big big big thanks to all who attended, and I hope you had as much fun watching us as we did playing. If you missed out however, no fear. We are playing again soon, first at the Wilmington Arms on the 3rd September, then a second appearance at the Camden Barfly on the 18th September. Neither of these are school nights so there is no excuse not to come down and get funky!

In case it changes before you read it, here's an interesting little excerpt from the TicketWeb site regarding our upcoming Barfly appearance - nice!

"THE KENTISH FIRE
new camden fire starters pop dance rock in the mould of LCD soundsystem stop start rhythms played by proficient musicians and based on previous experience tighter than the proverbial ducks derriere, infectious and appealing they have been together only 6 months but have been gigging proficiently and due some big noise soon
"

If you just simply cannot wait until then, you can check us out live at the Barfly on the Kentish Fire YouTube Channel. Here you will find us playing that nearly ready new song I mentioned before - our cover of Nina Hagen's 'Born in Xixax'. To wet your tastebuds further, we've a second new song on the horizon also. This time an original, a blasting riot of a ditty called 'In Our Band', penned in just a couple of sessions. We're putting the finishing touches to the recorded version, but are already playing it live so get down to see us!

Famous last words I know, but these two songs really should be up on our MySpace soon. We're working on a whole bunch of stuff behind the scenes all the time, bear with us!

Stop, drop 'n' roll!
